Cecily strong
Cecily Legler Strong, born February 8, 1984, is an American comedian, actress as well as a producer, singer, and comedian. Strong is most notable because she was a part-time cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2012 until 2022. Strong is the longest-tenured female actor in the history of the show. Strong was recruited for SNL while doing improv in The Second City in Chicago which is where she relocated after graduating from CalArts. Strong is currently the main character of the Apple TV+ musical comedy program Schmigadoon! (2021-present), which she also co-produces.
She also voiced The Awesomes (2013 to 2015) In addition, she has supporting roles in films like Ghostbusters and The Meddler. In 2015, she hosted White House Correspondents' Dinner. In 2021, her first book The Memoir This Will All be Over Soon Soon, was published.
She was nominated by Primetime Emmy Awards at the 72nd and 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards as Outstanding Supporting Artist on a Comedy Series for her work on Saturday Night Live.
Early life
Strong was born in Springfield Illinois and raised in Oak Park (an inner-ring suburb of Chicago). She is the daughter of Penelope Strong and William Strong. He was the head of the Associated Press bureau and also owned his own PR company until 2013. Penny Legler Strong is a nurse practitioner who has worked in numerous hospitals of the area. Strong is the daughter of divorced parents. Strong was fascinated by SNL from an early age. She loved performing sketches with her friend and watching old SNL commercials via VHS. "I had a tape that contained the best commercials that i utilized every day. She has said that she was inspired by Phil Hartman.
